# TWELVE THINGS OF 3s

`2026-08-07` · each with the receipt that measured or cited it. None asserted.

| # | the three | what it is | measured |
|---:|---|---|---|
| 1 | `3^0 = 1` | the nought and the one | 81 emit + 1 shared centre; not 80 and 1 — 81 and a shared centre |
| 2 | `3` | the order of the anti | anti^3 = identity, 20,000 of 20,000; a third of a turn, never a mirror |
| 3 | `3` | the start of the helix | 13 protofilaments, 3-start lateral helices |
| 4 | `3` | the faces of this machine | DETECT · ABSORB · CARRY — rotate three times, return to start |
| 5 | `3^2 = 9` | blades on the barrel | nine triplets; the blade count never moves off nine |
| 6 | `3^3 = 27` | the centriole, and the doors | 9 × 3 = 27 microtubules; 26 doors + the axis = 27 |
| 7 | `3^3 = 27` | the free ground | 27 FREE-ground seats, one per line, min −13 max 13 sum 0 |
| 8 | `3^4 = 81` | the kernels | 81 kernels, one socket, 81 distinct pids, 0 collisions |
| 9 | `3^5 = 243` | the byte's capacity | 243 ≤ 255, five trits a byte, exactly ⅘; binary wastes one code in four |
| 10 | `3^6 = 729` | the pixel brain | 27 × 27 = 729 cells, 0 collisions |
| 11 | `3^9 = 19683` | the lattice span | 19,683 per axis; the four-axis period is 19,683 |
| 12 | `3 states` | phases equal states | three substrates: ternary finds thirds, binary finds halves |

Nine of the twelve are one ladder read at different heights — `3^0` through `3^9` —
and the corpus keeps arriving at it from unrelated directions: a cell's barrel, a colour
key, a byte's capacity, a lattice span.

FALCON's honesty note stands beside this and is not removed: **the coincidences at 8, 9,
26 and 27 are the weakest part**, because those are common small integers. What carries is
a part count with a mechanism — nine triplets, twenty-seven tubules, and `13 mod 3 = 1`
forcing exactly one seam.
