Nothing is recalculated per level. Each ring is the previous ring under one transform, so the depth climbs without bound while the work per frame stays flat. At every level three wavefronts leave the centre — the shadow is already at the rim because a constraint has no travel time, light races, sound crawls. The outermost ring leaves the screen as a new one opens. Nothing accumulates, so it plays as long as the page is open. The centre is free, which is why the descent is free.
